Blogging in London

No wireless internet service here in our London at Hotel Ashley on Norfolk Square. We had to pay exorbitant fees to plug in at a cybercafe down the street.

Paris Internet rocks by comparison. At Hotel des Arts, I could use the 802.11 wireless from our room. Sure I had to pay but 25 euros for 24 hours of connect time is decent (here in the inconvenience of a London cybercafe I'm paying 2 euros for an hour.

That is all for now.

This is near Sacre Coeur. I paid these folks 3.50 euro's for some water so I could sit for as few minutes at one of their outdoor tables. That was after the waiter gave me the stink eye... Posted by Hello

That is Adeline there in the middle. How do you like my shiny forehead. I should learn how to use photoshop to alter reality.

It was really nice to talk with someone in France besides a member of the service industry (e.g. waiter or cashier). The fact that she speaks excellent english meant that we could have actual conversations (Amy only speaks a few words of French. I speak a bit more but not enough to sustain a conversation without looking every 4th word up in a dictionary).

and met some more french people. Posted by Hello

we attended a soiree at Adeline's place the next evening. Posted by Hello

We ate dinner at this restaurant on tuesday night. It was lots of fun. While there we met Adeline (see other pictures above). Posted by Hello

While very different in specfic detail, Refuge des Fondus is spiritual kin to the restaurant Ciao Bella in Felton in that they are both very quirky and fun. One of the amusing gimmics of Refuge des Fondus is that they serve wine in baby bottles (with the end of the nipple cut off so that the wine can flow with sufficient ease).

I'm sure he has a gold and platinum plated accordian at home that he plays in private. We've heard several accordian players on the metro but this guy was by far the best Posted by Hello

Now I know why they say "don't feed the animals". I tried to give her an oyster cracker and she took my whole arm! Posted by Hello
